Goodbye Doug Hogan

It was a sad day for the local news yesterday as Prime News anchor Doug Hogan announced he was signing off from his presenting duties. Doug has been associated with the Wagga TV station for 30 years and I even got a chance to work with him for a week when I was on work experience in high school in 2006. It is a shame in a way that he is leaving this on-screen position due to his association within the community, and now since the main operations of Prime TV have moved to Canberra it seems to be losing its 'local touch' even more. Its been nearly two years since this move to the ACT which saw the local bulletin move to the widescreen and HD format as well.

Doug is instead focusing on a senior management role as Prime7's Deputy Network News Editor ( a big title to say and an important role I'm guessing). The crazy weather man, Dan Gibson, who prefers to tell us all about his weekend at his kid's sporting games rather than reading the weather, is going to take over the job. And thats the latest in big TV news in Wagga.
                                           The famous Doug Hogan.
